- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Chelsea have been one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League once again this summer transfer window and their business isn’t finished just yet.
The Blues have outlaid £161m across nine signings so far but they still remain light in the number nine role.
Nicolas Jackson just isn’t quite at the level required to take Chelsea to the next step despite an impressive debut campaign since making the £32m switch from Villarreal last summer.
So, it’s understood that Enzo Maresca is keen to bring in a top-class striker before the deadline on August 30.
TBR Football can now reveal the latest on their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Belief Chelsea could still sign Victor Osimhen
Speaking exclusively to TBR Football, journalist Graeme Bailey provided the latest on Osimhen’s future at Napoli amid links to Stamford Bridge.
“So on Osimhen, PSG are not in the mix,” Bailey said.
“I’m told that Luis Enrique is not that keen on him and never was. Ademola Lookman is emerging as a possible target for PSG.”
Bailey then shared that Chelsea are still in talks with Napoli: “The situation between the two clubs is slow but ongoing.
“Napoli have seemingly agreed to lower their asking price for him but so too have Chelsea for Lukaku.
“Expectation is that once the Lukaku deal is done – which should be soon – that does make the Osimhen deal much more likely.”
Victor Osimhen statistics
Osimhen has established himself as ‘one of the best players in the world’ (per Adriano Del Monte) over the last few years.
Despite an injury-hit season, the Nigeria international still managed to fire home 17 goals in 27 starts last term, which is certainly a commendable tally.
That followed a 31-goal haul the previous campaign, so evidently the 25-year-old would be a major upgrade on Jackson.
If Chelsea can get the deal done, it’d be regarded as one of the biggest coups of the window.
Though, Arsenal are also interested in Osimhen, so they do face competition for his signature.
