Mohamed Salah is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world right now.
Indeed, Salah is a Ballon d’Or contender after his incredible performances this season, and he’s been praised to the hilt for his showings this term.
However, there is still some issues bubbling beneath the surface with Salah at Liverpool.
Salah’s contract at Liverpool is up in the summer, and while contract talks are going well, the winger’s future remains uncertain.
Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, James Pearce has been discussing Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool, and he says that the attacker only has two options to choose between heading into the summer.

The two options Mohamed Salah has this summer
According to Pearce, Salah may only have two options this summer.
The journalist says that the winger can either head to Saudi Arabia or sign an extension as he believes there isn’t another option open to him in Europe at the moment.
“The Salah one, I think, is really interesting because I don’t think he has another option in Europe. And I think it’s a straight choice between Saudi and signing the extension at Liverpool,” Pearce said.
“And I think, you know, I guess PSG would be the only one, but I don’t see them wanting. Yeah, and they’ve kind of moved away, haven’t they, from those kind of deals as well.”
What Michael Emenalo has said about Mohamed Salah
Saudi Arabian clubs could be in for Salah again this summer, and if that is indeed the case, Michael Emenalo will be the one pulling the strings to make this deal happen.
Emenalo has previously spoken about Salah, admitting that he wanted to sign the winger last summer.
However, Salah felt like he had unfinished business at Liverpool, so he rejected the move.
“I think it depends on Mo. The stories that our teams went after him was true, it is true, there was an interest, but just like Osimhen, it’s ok for me to have an interest in signing Mo, but the club have to have an interest in letting him go, and if those things don’t align, you don’t have a deal,” Emenalo said.
“Fundamentally, Liverpool didn’t want to sell and what price were we willing to buy at? I didn’t feel the player was ready to come because he felt like he had unfinished business.”
Salah felt like he had unfinished business at Liverpool last summer, but that business could soon be finished.
Indeed, Liverpool are on track to win the league this season, while they’re also Champions League contenders.
If Salah can pick up one of those two trophies this season, maybe, just maybe, he’ll feel like his work at Anfield is done.
This is certainly a situation to keep a close eye on.
