The perfect swap deal is staring Arsenal right in the face, would see Hector Bellerin leave - TBR View
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Real Betis star Nabil Fekir this summer in a move that would finally bring the Frenchman to England. Fekir almost joined Liverpool in 2018 and has since been in Spain. Surely, the ideal swap between the two clubs is staring them in the face?
Bellerin, 26, is expected to leave Arsenal this summer. The Spain international has been linked with numerous clubs and one of those is Real Betis – ABC de Sevilla reports that Betis want Bellerin, albeit on loan. The La Liga side certainly stand a chance of getting the Gunners right-back.
Meanwhile, Fekir has struggled since his move from Lyon to Betis in 2019. Just a season before, he was being linked with Liverpool and Arsenal and almost completed a move to Anfield. Instead, he stayed at Lyon and joined Betis in 2019 – where he has scored just 12 goals in 71 appearances.
Speaking to his YouTube channel, Goal’s Arsenal reporter Charles Watts claimed that Arsenal like Fekir. He also claims that Fekir, a 2018 World Cup champions, would be keen on a move to Arsenal: “He would absolutely be keen on a move, not just to Arsenal, but to the Premier League.”
So, a Bellerin, Fekir swap would surely suit both Arsenal and Betis?
So, with Betis wanting Bellerin and Arsenal wanting Fekir, surely it makes utter sense for the two sides to complete a swap deal? Betis paid around £18million to sign Fekir two years ago and while it was believed Betis had got a bargain – he has done very little to show he is worth more than that.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are likely to want a similar figure to the one Betis paid for Fekir. So, realistically, a straight swap could be on the cards. Even if it isn’t, Arsenal would surely be willing to chuck Bellerin in a deal. Plus a small-ish bit of cash – upto £10million? It would see Arsenal bring in a 10.
Martin Odegaard is set to leave. It would see them need to sign a right-back, Cedric and Calum Chambers offer cover. It is a move that makes utter sense for all involved. Arsenal have got to try and convince Betis into swapping Bellerin for Fekir, with the persuasion of a bit of cash, perhaps.
