Arsenal saw off Wolves 2-0 at The Emirates today but Mikel Arteta couldn’t leave his interviews without addressing the transfer situation.
Goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz helped the Gunners over the line against Wolves to make it the ideal start.
However, after only signing Riccardo Calafiori this summer and once again failing to add a new striker, Arsenal fans are expecting more business to be done.
And speaking to the media after the game, Arteta addressed the situation, albeit pretty abruptly.
Mikel Arteta suggests more incoming transfers for Arsenal
Speaking to the BBC after the game, Arteta was asked about the chance to bring in more fresh faces before the end of the month.
“The market is open, it is a possibility,” Arteta quipped when asked about new signings.

Arsenal are thought to be close to doing a deal to sign Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad, while more new players haven’t been ruled out either.
Of course, Arteta is often coy on the transfer market.
But Arsenal fans will be hoping they have some new additions to say hello to very soon.

An opening day win over Wolves was always going to be needed but over the course of the season, a deeper and more quality squad could also be needed.
At the minute, Arsenal have an abundance of talent in the squad down to about the 18 player mark.
But beyond that, things start to look a bit weaker than the likes of Man City and Liverpool in key areas.
The signing of Merino will hopefully come off but once again, the question of a new striker will persist.
If Arsenal are serious about overcoming City at the summit, then they need to go out and do the business now, rather than panic in January.
