Plenty is being made of Liverpool’s quest to appoint the right successor to Jurgen Klopp this summer.
The German is leaving Anfield to take a break from football and everyone at Liverpool knows it’s a mammoth task to replace him.
Klopp is hoping to leave Liverpool as title winners. This weekend, with City playing Arsenal and Liverpool having a winnable game v Brighton, could be massive.
Of course, Liverpool fans have had some disappointing news this weekend with Xabi Alonso confirming he will remain at Bayer Leverkusen for now.
Alonso has been one of Liverpool’s top targets. But now, they must move on and Fabrizio Romano has shared who the main target is.
Liverpool’s top choice to replace Jurgen Klopp
A number of other names have been mentioned when it comes to Liverpool finding their man to replace Klopp.
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is among the candidates being considered. Further, Julian Nagelsmann remains a coach of interest to Michael Edwards.
Of course, another exciting name on the list is Sporting Lisbon manager, Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has shone in Portugal and has a number of admirers across Europe.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Amorim is indeed the ‘main name’ on Liverpool’s list of Klopp replacements.
Taking to social media tonight to provide the update, Romano has said that while others are being considered, Amorim is the main name.
Ruben Amorim’s release clause amid Liverpool interest
Reports earlier today have suggested already that Amorim is in line to get an interview with Liverpool regardless.
One issue for the Reds could be the release clause of Amorim. Reports have suggested it could be as high as £25m. That is a lot to pay for a manager, even if Liverpool do need to get it right.
However, that £25m figure could also be considered a touch high.
A report from The Telegraph tonight has actually claimed the fee could be less than £13m.
If that is the case, then Liverpool might well get on with things and make their move here.
