One manager has reportedly scored highly on Liverpool’s internal data tests as they continue to search for Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.
Xabi Alonso has widely been viewed as the favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp ever since Liverpool announced the German will leave the club this summer.
But there have been some mixed reports on the Spaniard in recent days, with claims that Bayern Munich are confident of landing the Bayer Leverkusen boss.
One name that appears to be becoming a stronger candidate by the day is Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim.

Indeed, Liverpool have already sent scouts to watch Amorim’s Sporting in action this season.
And according to The Daily Mail, the Portuguese boss has scored high on tests run by Liverpool’s research team at Anfield.
Amorim would cost Liverpool £25m
The outlet claims that Amorim is believed to have scored high on ‘internal data tests’ headed up by the head of research, Will Spearman, at Liverpool.
It’s also noted that the Sporting CP boss shares the same agent with Liverpool star Luis Diaz.
Yet, should the Reds firm up their interest in Amorim, Sporting would demand a record fee worth around £25 million.
Amorim or Alonso to Liverpool?
Both managers are widely viewed as two of the most exciting coaches in Europe right now.
At 39, Amorim is three years younger than Alonso but does boast more experience as a first-team manager.

The Portuguese boss enjoyed spells at SC Braga and Casa Pia before landing the Sporting job in March 2020.
Amorim has since led Sporting to a league title and currently leads the way in Liga Portugal this term.
As for Alonso, he’s only been in the job at Leverkusen for just over 18 months but has already transformed them into an elite side. The German outfit are yet to taste defeat in all competitions this season.
With Roberto De Zerbi also a target for Liverpool, it’s clear the club are looking at hiring a young and exciting manager to take over from Klopp.
