Liverpool secured their 20th league title last season, and Diogo Jota’s vital role in helping them get there will certainly be remembered forever.
Jota tragically passed away following a car accident with his brother in Zamora, Spain, late on Wednesday evening.
There has been an outpouring of support from Premier League clubs towards Jota’s passing, with his fellow countryman, Cristiano Ronaldo, also issuing a touching tribute.
The 28-year-old featured on 26 occasions for the Merseyside club during the 2024/25 Premier League season, scoring six goals, whilst also notching a further four assists.
The Portuguese star produced at least five decisive moments as he netted three winning goals throughout the campaign.
Liverpool supporters and everyone associated with the club will no doubt ensure that his memory will live on and his impact during their title-winning season won’t be forgotten.

Diogo Jota set Liverpool on their way to winning the Premier League title at Ipswich Town as he scored the opening goal of the season.
The Reds ended up winning 2-0 at Portman Road, but for around an hour, the newly promoted team managed to keep Arne Slot’s side at bay.
But the Portuguese international finally found the breakthrough as he slotted home Mohamed Salah’s cross to also score the first goal of the Slot era.
Jota’s impact against Ipswich was hailed after the match, as his goal ensured Liverpool started the new campaign with three points.

Starting in the centre forward role, Jota again proved his importance with two assists away at his former ground, Molineux.
The forward set up Ibrahima Konate’s goal before winning a penalty in the second half, which Salah converted.
Wolves were threatening to take two points off the Reds, but Jota found himself in a great position in the penalty area, which saw him win the spot kick.
The three points against his former club helped Liverpool climb top of the table, where they remained for the rest of the season.
Selhurst Park heroics from Diogo Jota
Jota again came up trumps for the Slot’s men as he scored the only goal of the game against Crystal Palace in a 1-0 back in March.
It was a swift goal from the star as he netted after just nine minutes in South London, and the Reds’ defence managed to keep Palace at bay for the remaining 81 minutes.
The 28-year-old stole a march on Trevoh Chalobah in the Palace penalty area to turn home Cody Gakpo’s cross and keep Liverpool top of the table.

Just as Arsenal were starting to get a glimmer of hope in the title race, Jota closed the door on those feelings with another winning goal for Liverpool.
This time it came in the Merseyside derby against Everton as he finally found the breakthrough at Anfield just before the hour mark.
Luis Diaz’s lovely flick round the corner was latched onto by Jota, who jinked his way past two defenders in the penalty area before sticking the ball past Jordan Pickford.
Point rescued at Nottingham Forest by Diogo Jota
Finally, Jota saved a point away at the City Ground for the Reds as he scored with his first touch of the game in the 66th minute.
Slot’s men tried to push for a winner but ended up just short, but a point remained a solid result for Liverpool against a strong Nottingham Forest side.
Kostas Tsimikas perfectly picked out Jota, whose header found its way past Matz Sels.
