Whilst Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side enjoyed an excellent win against Liverpool last night, they still needed a slight helping hand.
Virgil van Dijk’s ill-judgement, which was mirrored by teammate Alisson, presented Gabriel Martinelli with the easiest of chances to put Arsenal back in the lead.

But in truth, Arsenal should have probably already been a couple of goals ahead, they certainly dominated the game well enough.
Kai Havertz was up top for Arteta’s Arsenal side on this occasion, with Gabriel Jesus suffering a minor injury set-back.
And although Havertz was brilliant in executing his role from a tactical point of view, he never seemed likely to score.
That’s fine whilst those around him are finding the net, but questions will quickly be asked once again if Arsenal are frustrated.
That being said, it seems as if Arsenal will still chase the arrival of a world-class goalscorer in the summer.
And although Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen are often linked, it’s perhaps an even loftier target who would now consider a move to Arsenal.
Kylian Mbappe has now considered a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side
According to the Independent, Arsenal are one of three sides Kylian Mbappe has explored a move to for the coming summer.
Mbappe has long been considered ‘the best player in the world’ with both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo winding down their careers.

And although the report suggests Mbappe would be willing, it also details that Arsenal aren’t ready to break their wage structure for a deal.
The same goes for Liverpool, who would also be a club that Mbappe would be willing to consider.
That being said, it seems as if Real Madrid remains the most likely move for the France international, even if there’s still work to do on his contract terms there too.
And whilst Arsenal fans would probably love to see Mbappe join Arteta’s side, they won’t want the side’s finances compromised as a result.
In truth, a move for Toney or Osimhen does make a lot more sense.
And perhaps right now Arsenal should be given their full attention to a different contract situation.
