'Talks ongoing': West Ham now looking to do double deal and sign two players with the same agent - Romano

David Moyes could soon have two new players in his squad, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that West Ham are working on deals for Filip Kostic and Gianluca Scamacaa

Sky Italia reported that the Hammers are ‘getting close’ to signing Sassuolo striker Scamacca yesterday, with the Italian club lowering their asking price.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic had been linked with Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the window but it seems their London rivals are attempting to steal a march on them for the player.

West Ham looking to do double deal

Fabrizio Romano claims that West Ham are working on deals to sign Kostic and Scamacca this summer

The two player’s are represented by the same agent and Romano says that talks between the Hammers and the two clubs are ongoing.

West Ham have submitted bids and are waiting to reach agreements with Frankfurt and Sassuolo.

As for their pursuit of Chelsea’s Armamndo Broja, Romano says the deal is currently on ‘standby’ as the West London club haven’t made a decision yet.

Kostic is a new name to be linked to West Ham and the Serbian actually played against Moyes’ side in the Europa League semi-final.

The winger has been excellent during his time in the Bundesliga and was a standout player in Frankfurt’s Europa League winning season. The 29-year-old scored three goals and provided six assists in the competition from the wing-back role.

West Ham’s interest in Scamacca has been well documented and the Italian impressed in Serie A last season. The 23-year-old netted 16 goals in 36 games for Sassuolo last season and finished the sixth highest scored in the Italian league.

TBR’s View: A Scamacca and Kostic double swoop would be a statement of intent from West Ham

Scamacca would add a great alternative for Moyes up front to Michail Antonio and Kostic would do exactly the same at wing-back, although he would more than likely be a guaranteed starter.

Both players have immense quality and would improve West Ham’s squad dramatically. After missing out on Jesse Lingard, this would go a long way to making it up to Moyes. Signing two sought-after players such as Kostic and Scamacca would be a statement of intent from the Hammers.
