Sunderland are interested in Benjamín Rollheiser as they prepare for clubs to make a move for Jack Clarke during the January transfer window.
That is according to a report from The Times, which notes that the Black Cats are now looking at Kim Hellberg as they continue their search for Tony Mowbray’s successor.
Jack Clarke has been in sensational form this season. The wide-man has scored 10 times in 19 games in the league. The Times reports that Bournemouth were keen on him in the summer. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace were monitoring Clarke also.
Sunderland interested in Benjamin Rollheiser
Sunderland would surely love to keep the 23-year-old. However, it does appear that they are considering potential replacements, with Benjamín Rollheiser on the club’s radar.

Rollheiser currently plays for Estudiantes in Argentina. And he managed to score 12 goals in all competitions last season. He had previously scored twice across the entirety of his career before the campaign.
The Times reports that Sunderland have made a move for Rollheiser. But he will cost £6 million. And obviously, you would would imagine that he will have reservations while the Black Cats do not have a manager in place.
Premier League interest in the summer
It would be quite the coup to bring Rollheiser to the Stadium of Light in the coming weeks. He is not yet a household name this side of the Atlantic. However, there has been plenty of interest in him.
The Sun reported in the summer that Newcastle, Burnley and Sheffield United were all eyeing a £12 million move for Rollheiser.
Clearly, he is someone with a lot of potential and a very bright future ahead. So it would be quite the statement if Sunderland were able to secure his signature.
