Journalist Paul Brown has told GiveMeSport that if Mykhaylo Mudryk’s asking price drops, Arsenal may make him their top target.
Mikel Arteta has been on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and Arsenal missed out on Raphinha to Barcelona over the summer.
After Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury at the World Cup, the Gunners may now be forced into the market in January.
The Brazilian’s injury looks like a huge blow for Arteta and ESPN reports that he could now be out for up to three months.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mudryk over the past few months. But it seems that the Gunners will only move for the player if the Ukrainian outfit lower their asking price.

Arsenal may make Mudryk top target
Brown has told GiveMeSport that if Shakhtar’s valuation of Mudryk drops, he could become Arsenal’s top target.
“I think he’s on a list of several wide options. I wouldn’t like to say he’s their number one target because I think it will depend on the price,” Brown said.
“If an agent suddenly told them that the asking price was much less than €100million, he might shoot to the top of the list.
“But I think, at the moment, at that price he is not their top target.”

Mudryk has been labelled as ‘unstoppable’ after some dazzling performances for Shakhtar over the past year.
The 21-year-old was particularly impressive in the Champions League this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists for Shakhtar before they were knocked out at the group stage.
Ben Jacobs claimed yesterday that Arteta believes he can make Mudryk a more versatile player if he joins Arsenal. The Ukrainian star has only played off the right-hand side once this season, with all his appearances coming from the left wing.
It’s unclear whether Mudryk would be able to adapt to different roles across the front-three but he’s certainly got the talent to do so.
Arsenal will be hoping they can reach some sort of compromise with Shaktar for Mudryk. Despite his brilliant performances this season, £86 million is a lot of money for a player who is still a relatively unproven talent.
