Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have been in the market for forwards on deadline day.
Newcastle have finally landed Yoane Wissa, with Brentford allowing the Congolese forward to depart after a summer of turmoil.
Tottenham have sanctioned a loan for Randal Kolo Muani, with the Frenchman joining for the season from PSG.

That said, both were seemingly looking for more options, but one man they won’t be getting is Victor Boniface.
Werder Bremen sign Spurs and Newcastle-linked Victor Boniface
TBR Football revealed that Victor Boniface was offered to the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham – but he’s just signed for Werder Bremen.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed this on deadline day, with the famous phrase ‘here we go’ showcased in an infographic for the Nigerian.
Boniface was one of the best players in Germany during the 22/23 season, bagging 22 goals in 55 games for Bayer Leverkusen. He’s also been mightily consistent since.
- 2022–23 (Union SG): 17 goals
- 2023–24 (Bayer Leverkusen): 21 goals
- 2024–25 (Bayer Leverkusen): 11 goals
He would have been a good option for both Newcastle, or Tottenham – but alas, his future is in Bremen.
West Ham most keen on Boniface
The Premier League side who were most keen was West Ham, and Graham Potter could certainly have done with him.
Potter and West Ham have had a torrid start to the Premier League campaign and, aside from the Nottingham Forest win, still look lacklustre up top.
That said, Boniface will not be joining.
