Spurs reportedly want to sign player who's been compared to Alphonso Davies
One Spurs transfer saga has finally come to an end as Harry Kane declared his intention to stay at Tottenham.
But with the transfer window closing next week, there’s another Spurs transfer saga going on.
Luckily for Tottenham fans, this one involves a potential new arrival rather than an outgoing.
Over the past few weeks, Spurs have reportedly been eyeing Wolves winger Adama Traore.
The Guardian reported on Monday that Tottenham have spoken to the Molineux outfit over a potential deal.
Traore shone under Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves, and the new Spurs boss is reportedly eager to reunite with the 25-year-old.
Spurs eyeing “the most exciting player to watch right now”?
Premier League legend Mark Schwarzer reckons Traore would be a great addition to the Spurs squad.
The former Australia goalkeeper thinks the Spain international’s playing style is similar to that of Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
“To bring someone in like Adama Traore, for me he is probably the most exciting player to watch right now,” he said on Optus Sport.
“Every time he gets the ball, he reminds me a little bit of Alphonso Davies when he gets the ball. He opens up his legs.
“The only thing Adama Traore is struggling with is that end product, but wow, his energy (and) pace is insane.”
Lage thinks Traore will stay at Wolves
Speaking after Wolves eased past Nottingham Forest in the League Cup on Tuesday, Bruno Lage responded to a question regarding Traore’s future.
The new Wolves manager was asked if he sees Traore remaining at Molineux beyond next Tuesday’s deadline and he replied: “Yeah, I think so.”
Obviously no manager will say that one of his star players will be going.
However, speculation seems to suggests Spurs have a good chance of landing Traore, so this is certainly one to watch.
