Tottenham Hotspur have wasted no time in identifying and moving for new signings this month.

According to Alasdair Gold, Spurs are closing in on the signing of Fraser Forster.

The football.london Tottenham correspondent believes Spurs could even announce his arrival by Friday.

This would take care of a high-calibre, experienced deputy for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham summer spending spree on the horizon?

Spurs fans could potentially also look forward to a summer of big-money signings that match Antonio Conte’s expectations.

On Tuesday, Tottenham announced that ENIC had “agreed a capital increase of up to £150m via the issue of convertible A Shares and accompanying warrants.

“The equity injection provides the Premier League Club with greater financial flexibility and the ability to further invest on and off the pitch.”

Football.london has suggested that the majority of that £150m will go towards backing Conte in the market this summer.

This is to help him build a team to challenge at the top of the Premier League and in the Champions League.

One player currently being linked with Tottenham would certainly tick all of Conte’s boxes and would be welcomed by the fanbase.

The player in question is Inter Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Conte will order Fabio Paratici to go out and sign Bastoni, for whatever the price.

Inter reportedly want at least £50million for the 23-year-old centre-back, who helped his country win Euro 2020.

Can Spurs reunite Bastoni and Conte?

Bastoni is incredibly talented, established at the highest level, can develop much more, and plays on the left-hand side.

Furthermore, Conte and Bastoni worked together at Inter, the defender deeming his former boss ‘phenomenal‘.

Bastoni already has a Serie A title, an Italian Super Cup and a Euro 2020 winner’s medal.

Gazzetta dello Sport – via Sport Witness – claims Inter are open to the idea of selling him.

That’s because they want to keep Lautaro Martinez next season.

However, with their need to make some money to balance the books, they could cash in on Bastoni.

Gazzetta also claims Tottenham are ‘monitoring carefully’ the situation.

They know that players of his ilk – left-footed defenders – are rare.

Furthermore, the Spurs manager ‘has seen with his own eyes how Alessandro is destined to become among the best in the world in his role’.

And Alasdair Gold, speaking on his YouTube channel, reckons Bastoni would be a “huge” signing for Tottenham.

If Tottenham can get this signing over the line, fans will surely be buzzing.

He could perhaps be Spurs’ own Virgil van Dijk in terms of his impact in bolstering Tottenham’s defence.
