Tottenham Hotspur have Alessandro Bastoni right near the top of their transfer wishlist as they look to sign a new centre-back in the summer transfer window, according to a report from The Athletic.
Spurs are flying right now. And they may be many people’s favourites to go on and clinch fourth spot in the Premier League. But there is still work to be done to the squad.

Fabrizio Romano has previously suggested that Tottenham will definitely sign a centre-back in the summer. And it appears that they have a host of names on their wishlist.
The Athletic reports that Bastoni is one of the top names on that list. The Inter Milan starlet was given his chance by Antonio Conte. And he has gone on to establish himself as a key man for the Nerazzurri.

The Athletic reports that, unsurprisingly, Inter would like to keep Bastoni. And it may take an offer of over £50 million to get him out of San Siro.
Bastoni may not be particularly keen to leave the Serie A holders. But if there is one manager who may be able to lure him away, it may well be Antonio Conte.
In fact, Bastoni could not hide just how highly he rated the Tottenham boss when they were working together in Milan.
“Everyone had spoken highly of Conte and I’ve only received confirmation of how great he is,” he said in 2019.
“As far as I am concerned, Conte is the Messi of coaches.”
“He is phenomenal, has exceptional footballing ideas and always wants to go on the attack.”
Tottenham looking to replicate recent success with Alessandro Bastoni move
Tottenham ended up enjoying a hugely successful January transfer window. Certainly, their strongest starting lineup seemed to improve considerably with the additions of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
Both players had impressed in Serie A. And they have the opportunity to get even better in the years to come.
Bastoni is another who ticks those boxes. So perhaps Tottenham will be able to replicate that success should they make a move for the Inter star this summer.
