Spurs must win Franck Kessie race if Tanguy Ndombele is sold

One of the only players to have impressed across any of Spurs’ last three games in all competitions has been Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman was not involved against Crystal Palace. But he shone against Rennes in the Europa Conference League. And he showed glimpses of his quality in the loss at home to Chelsea.

It will be fascinating to see how Nuno Espirito Santo proceeds with Ndombele.

If he can get the best out of him, it could be a defining moment in his tenure at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But if the pair do not click, Ndombele will surely be on the move in one of the upcoming windows.

And it appears that one of the clubs who could look at a move should he become available is Manchester United. It was claimed this week that they are admirers of the 24-year-old.

Such an agreement would not go down at all well with the Spurs fans. Not only would they be selling one of their most talented players, but they would also be allowing him to join a divisional rival.

Appeasing supporters therefore, will not be easy. It would arguably become imperative that Spurs pull something special out of the bag in response.

One of the only ways for that to happen would arguably come in the form of winning the race to sign Franck Kessie.

Spurs cannot afford to miss out on Kessie should they decide to sell Ndombele

Kessie’s future remains with AC Milan up in the air. His contract expires next summer. And according to Mundo Deportivo, Spurs are one of several European heavyweights interested in the Ivorian.

Manchester United, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool also want Kessie.

It was recently claimed that Fabio Paratici has already opened talks to sign Kessie for Spurs.

So it would clearly be a huge coup if they could secure his signature.

And if they could get a deal done, supporters would surely find it easier to stomach if Tottenham ultimately decided that they would be better off selling Ndombele.
