A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from journalist Alasdair Gold in which he hinted Harry Kane signing a new contract cannot be completely ruled out.
Of course, it remains entirely possible that Kane could leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City. But obviously, agreeing a deal is not proving to be easy for the Premier League champions.
They have reportedly seen a £100 million bid rejected. And with the new season looming, it is becoming increasingly difficult to imagine Kane leaving before the deadline passes.
Unsurprisingly, the striker staying put this summer looks unlikely to mark the end of the story. But perhaps, it could lead to a decision that few would have seen coming a few weeks ago.

Gold suggested on the Gold and Guest talk Tottenham podcast that he has heard noises from some around Kane’s camp claiming that the forward signing a new contract in North London cannot be ruled out entirely.
Obviously, that seems some way off. But it does appear that that has not come as a huge surprise to some fans.

Many feel that such an agreement would appeal to Kane if a release clause is included. Clearly, in that scenario, Spurs may be wary of agreeing fresh terms considering he is already under contract until 2024.
