Spurs fans react to J’Neill Bennett display in U23s win

A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to laud J’Neil Bennett after the youngster scored two more goals for the U23s in pre-season on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old will be setting his sights on pushing closer to a first-team debut this season.

He enjoyed an encouraging year last term. The winger scored three and contributed two assists in Premier League 2.

And he is off to a flying start in pre-season. He scored twice at the weekend as Spurs’ under-23s beat Ramsgate 6-0.

And he followed it up with another brace on Tuesday. This time, it was Enfield Town who were comfortably brushed aside, with Tottenham winning 4-0.

Bennett scored in either half, including a stunner to double their lead.

And that prompted plenty of Spurs fans to laud the teenager on social media following the game.

Nuno Espirito Santo has shown that he is leaving the door open for youngsters to impress this summer.

Nile John, Dane Scarlett and Maksim Paskotsi were amongst those who stood out in the first-team’s opening friendly.

And some are convinced that Bennett is getting closer to moving onto Nuno’s radar.

Certainly, if he continues to score goals as regularly, it is going to be hard for Nuno to ignore the wide-man for competitions such as the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup.
