Tottenham fans praise 18-year-old prospect for his pre-season display
Tottenham recorded a 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon in pre-season – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter raved about their young star Nile John for his performance.
Spurs continued work towards the new campaign with a draw away to League Two opposition.
Highly-rated Spurs forward Dane Scarlett put his side ahead in emphatic fashion. He delivered a clinical left-footed finish after getting on the end of a through ball from Lucas Moura.
However, the hosts did equalise in the second period though Ruel Sotiriou.
Nuno Espirito Santo is still waiting for some players to return, so it was an XI with a nice mix of youth and experience.
Nile John excites Tottenham fans
A selection of Spurs supporters on social media named John as a major positive because of the way he played in the centre of the park.
The 18-year-old central midfielder started the contest, but didn’t look like one of the academy prospects.
He delivered an all-action performance during just over an hour on the pitch, so some are excited about what’s to come from him.
The London-born powerhouse has made one senior appearance for Spurs, which was a cameo in the Europa League last season.
