Spurs fans react on Twitter to Tanguy Ndombele’s display

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to laud Tanguy Ndombele after the midfielder produced an impressive cameo during Spurs’ Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig on Wednesday – but there is also a clear sense of frustration emanating from the supporters.

Jose Mourinho’s men will need to come from behind in Germany next month if they hope to reach the quarter-finals. A Timo Werner penalty decided the first-leg at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Despite the defeat, there were a handful of extremely impressive performances from the home side. Hugo Lloris produced a number of saves that could prove crucial heading into the second-leg. Giovani Lo Celso meanwhile, was lauded by the supporters.

But there was also a lot of praise for Ndombele, despite the Frenchman only coming on for the final 25 minutes.

It is no secret that the 23-year-old has struggled with his fitness in recent times. He has not played 90 minutes since December. So it was little surprise to see him start Wednesday’s tie on the bench.

But despite his problems, he certainly provided a glimpse of his quality. shows that no player on the pitch completed more dribbles than Ndombele – even though he did not start.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, his talent makes the Ndombele conundrum all the more agonising. It is clear that many supporters want the summer signing starting games.

But they are aware that he may not be ready to start on a regular basis. Nevertheless, a number of supporters on social media have lauded the youngster’s cameo. And they have expressed their hope that he will soon turn a corner.

Here is what some of the fans made of Ndombele’s performance…
