Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Giovani Lo Celso’s display

A number of Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on Giovani Lo Celso’s performance during their defeat to RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

Jose Mourinho’s men will have to overturn a deficit when they meet the Bundesliga side in Germany next month.

Timo Werner scored from the penalty spot after a clumsy foul from Ben Davies during the second-half. And in truth, it appeared that Spurs were grateful to Hugo Lloris for ensuring that the deficit is not greater.

Tottenham struggled to really lay a glove on Leipzig before the latter stages. But if anyone was going to produce the moment of brilliance that the home side needed it was surely Lo Celso.

The Argentinian was excellent throughout the contest. He did cause problems for the visitors, and he was desperately unlucky not to score from a brilliant free-kick as the final stages approached.

The 23-year-old’s effort looked destined to find its way into the far corner. But Peter Gulacsi seemed to tip the ball onto the post and out for a corner.

And plenty of Tottenham fans took to social media to suggest that Lo Celso was, by far, their best player on a frustrating night for the Premier League side.

It was a disappointing result for Spurs. But the game did provide further evidence that Tottenham have uncovered a gem in Lo Celso.
