Dean Jones has told The Football Terrace that he does expect Adama Traore to join Tottenham Hotspur this month, and believes that things will accelerate this week.
Traore joining Tottenham has seemingly been on the cards for some time. In fact, Spurs were even hoping to take the Spain international on loan with obligation to buy for £20 million in the summer.

Traore scoring for Wolves at the weekend may have thrown a spanner in the works. Of course, it was a reminder of what he could do after a first-half of the campaign in which he failed to score or provide an assist.
However, Jones has suggested that a move is still likely to take place. And he believes that progress is set to be made in the coming days as Spurs look to bring Traore to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“With Tottenham, they have had to wait because Wolves made it clear that they wanted to bring in a replacement before Traore was allowed to go anywhere,” he told The Football Terrace.
“Spurs have had to be patient, but it looks like things will move forward this week with Traore. I do expect him to join Tottenham, it’s just a case of agreeing on the fee.”
Tottenham fans will welcome end to Adama Traore speculation
Traore has not had the best season. But it is clear that he has an enormous amount of potential. And with the right manager, he could be devastating. His ability and pace have previously been described as ‘unbelievable‘ by Jack Grealish.
For some Tottenham fans however, it does appear that they could take or leave a move for Traore. He will need to improve his output to justify a place in the Tottenham team should he join.
The priority for many Spurs supporters therefore, is likely to be seeing an end to the speculation one way or another. It is probably doing Antonio Conte’s men few favours in the market waiting to learn if Traore is available.
The good news is Jones has suggested that a move should edge closer imminently.
If the speculation continues beyond January however, Tottenham fans may feel that they have found themselves their new Leandro Damiao.
