Spurs are keen on Maxence Lacroix this summer; one of a number of defensive targets, says Alasdair Gold
Spurs are looking into the possibility of signing Maxence Lacroix this summer, Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold has confirmed.
Answering questions from fans for FL, Gold confirmed that Lacroix is indeed a player the club are looking at. He is said to be one of a number of defenders on Fabio Paratici’s list for this summer.
Reports this week had already suggested Lacroix was a target for the club as they look for defensive reinforcements. And Gold’s confirmation, given his connections with the club, will excite Spurs fans.
As mentioned on TBR this week, Lacroix is a defender who has been compared to Rio Ferdinand in the past. Clearly, those comparisons suggest the 21-year-old Frenchman is quite the talent.
Whether or not Spurs do make their move, remains to be seen. However, on the surface, he seems a smart pick. He helped Wolfsburg to 13 clean-sheets last term. And given he’s only 21, there is ample time for further improvement.
Lacroix part of a big summer for Spurs
Well, he could be. The club are being linked with a host of names already, with Paratici’s impact already being felt at the club.
Of course, he’ll have to get some deals over the line. There’s no point being linked with players, only for Spurs to end up with nobody.
Lacroix is a signing who makes sense, in a position the club needs. But it could also come down to Nuno Santo’s preferences.
Spurs fans, then, face a long summer at this rate. Lacroix will undoubtedly be one of many more names yet to even be mentioned.
