After a run of five straight league wins, Mikel Arteta will be intent on keeping his Arsenal players focused in training ahead of FC Porto.

Arteta won’t want to sour the incredible mood around London Colney right now, but he will want to keep feet on the ground, especially with such a big game on the horizon.

Arsenal haven’t enjoyed the most fruitful relationship with the Champions League knockout stages in the past, something they’ll want to change.

And whilst Porto aren’t having their most successful season domestically, they could still prove a tough stylistic match up for The Gunners.

That being said, Arteta should have a very strong team available, and is only expected to make one change to his XI

But given the players that are still missing for Arsenal, it will be intriguing to see if one or two youngsters make the bench on a crucial night in Portugal.

And with that in mind, Myles Lewis-Skelly has now been pictured in Arsenal training before the Porto clash.

The 17-year-old midfielder has a growing reputation in North London, and it seems he’s edging ever closer to the first team.

Journalist Jeorge Bird confirmed the news on X, saying Lewis-Skelly was seen alongside Ethan Nwaneri and Ayden Heaven.

Lewis-Skelly has just recovered from a recent injury, and it will be pleasing for fans to see him back with the senior squad.

The midfielder was called a ‘special’ talent by his own teammate Nwaneri recently, two of Arsenal’s best prospects for some time.

And it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if one of those names made their way onto the bench in this huge Champions League tie.

Of course, Arsenal fans will also be very pleased to see that Thomas Partey has also been back in training before the Porto tie, and they’ll be keeping their fingers crossed he avoids further injury issues.

It does now seem as if Arsenal’s squad is coming together at the right time.

And perhaps this strength in depth does explain why Arteta is willing to part with an ‘outstanding’ midfielder this summer.
