Spanish media now criticise ‘lost’ talent after Tottenham let him go for free

Tottenham let a promising talent leave for free during the summer – and he is still finding his feet after moving to a different country.

It can often take time for youngsters to settle wherever they are – some may even recall Gareth Bale of all players struggling at Spurs following his move from Southampton, with the Daily Mail even calling the Welshman a “flop” and linking him to Birmingham in 2009.

Therefore, patience is always needed.

So, which young talent has been criticised after his exit from Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

Jude Soonsup-Bell struggles on Cordoba debut after leaving Tottenham

Spanish media outlet El Dia De Cordoba have now written about Jude Soonsup-Bell, who Tottenham allowed to leave on a free transfer to join Cordoba in August.

The 20-year-old played 18 minutes of Cordoba’s recent 0-0 draw against Malaga on Saturday, which didn’t exactly give him much time to impress, although El Dia De Cordoba did not hold back regardless.

It is written that Soonsup-Bell “looked rather lost” and “lacking in energy” during the Segunda Division clash meeting with Malaga.

The Spanish news outlet add that the England U19 international “showed a lack of adaptation and a huge margin for improvement” on his debut for Cordoba.

Big things are expected of Soonsup-Bell, who Fabio Paratici praised, after he scored 23 goals in 25 games for the Chelsea U18 side, before netting 14 in 34 appearances for Tottenham’s U21s, although Cordoba fans must be patient.

Nonsense

Regardless of whether El Dia De Cordoba believe what they have written or not, this is a ridiculous article to publish.

Soonsup-Bell has been in Spain for just a matter of weeks, having left north London on August 22nd, and having never previously played his football outside of England, the striker from Chippenham is going to need time to settle.

What isn’t going to aid his acclimatisation in Spain is an article criticising him for a quiet 18-minute debut.

If El Dia De Cordoba continue to put every little thing Soonsup-Bell does under the microscope like this, we highly doubt he will show much improvement, as the youngster will surely end up feeling the pressure.
