West Ham are being linked with Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard – and some Saints fans on Twitter claim they wouldn’t mind selling him this summer for the right price.
According to The Telegraph, West Ham are on the search during this window for a new centre-half.
It is understood Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma are both on their radar, but attention may turn towards St Mary’s.
The report says that Southampton’s towering 6ft 6in centre-back is someone that West Ham are now considering.
Vestergaard, who’s entering the final year of his contract, is a powerhouse defender that is dominant in the air.
Also, he’s a ball-playing centre-half that is so comfortable in possession. His long range diagonal passes are a trademark of his game.
Alan Shearer described him as “outstanding” for a performance last season.

Jannik Vestergaard marvellous on his day
A selection of Southampton fans on social media believe that they should let Vestergaard go if the right offer comes in. They’ve already sold star forward Danny Ings this week to Aston Villa.
West Ham’s desire to bring in a defender seems high because they’ve got to balance domestic and European games this campaign.
Southampton’s ace is proven at Premier League level. In addition, he was excellent at Euro 2020 for a Denmark side that reached the semi-finals of the competition.
He could be a shrewd addition to improve West Ham’s defensive options if David Moyes’ side ramp up their interest.
