Rangers look set to go into the January transfer window facing a fight to keep Joe Aribo at Ibrox, with the Daily Record reporting that scouts came to watch the 25-year-old at the weekend.
The Record suggested this week that Southampton are eyeing a move for the Nigeria international. They have reportedly now received several positive reports on the attacking midfielder.

Aribo has arguably been the Gers’ best player this season. He has been bright throughout his time at Ibrox. But he appears to have taken his game to another level in this campaign.
The former Charlton Athletic man has scored six goals in the Scottish Premiership, while he also has four assists in all competitions.

And given his ability to play in a variety of positions, it is hardly a surprise that sides are taking an interest. It is also noted that he is out of contract at the end of next season.
For those Southampton fans who have seen Aribo in action, he would be an incredibly exciting signing. The Saints have enjoyed a lot of success when landing players from Scotland’s top flight in the last decade.

There are concerns about how much he may cost. Southampton have not been amongst the biggest spenders in the Premier League. And Giovanni van Bronckhorst is hardly likely to understand the Rangers hierarchy cashing in midway through the season without a big fee coming in.
But there is a feeling that he would be a great addition if a deal is possible.
