‘Soon’… Pundit reckons Tottenham will be signing £45m player in the near future

Tottenham have a bit of a midfield conundrum on their hands right now.

The north London club are without their two first-choice midfielders in the shape of Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma at the moment, and Ange Postecoglou has a tough job on his hands when it comes to picking his midfield right now.

However, the January transfer window is open and reinforcements could soon be on the way.

One player who has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham as of late is Conor Gallagher, and speaking on Premier League Productions, Clinton Morrison has tipped the £45m player to join Spurs soon.

Gallagher will join Spurs soon

Morrison spoke about Tottenham’s current midfield issues.

“Ange turns average players into very good players, I’m not saying Werner is an average player, he can score goals and he can score problems, don’t forget we don’t have Son at the moment, Bissouma as well in the midfield, but we’ll get Gallagher soon anyway,” Morrison said.

Problem solved

Tottenham do have a midfield problem at the moment without Sarr and Bissouma, but Gallagher’s arrival would immediately solve that issue.

Of course, signing a 23-year-old for £45m isn’t a transfer that is wholly for the short-term, Gallagher has the ability to be a key player for Tottenham for years to come if he joins, and who knows? Perhaps he could even displace Sarr or Bissouma in the team if he were to arrive.

Unfortunately, despite Morrison’s optimism, getting this deal done won’t be easy. Chelsea are holding out for a decent fee for Gallagher, while it’s also been reported that the player himself is keen to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.

Whether or not Tottenham can get this deal done remains to be seen, but this has the potential to be a very good signing for Spurs if they can get this one over the line
