Newcastle United have slowly but surely built a very talented team in recent years since the PIF takeover.
The Magpies have some top-class talents in their ranks such as Bruno Guimaraes and Sven Botman.
However, the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly Alexander Isak.
Isak has been ranked as one of the best players in the world, and for good reason.
The striker was in incredible form for Newcastle last season, and the team is largely built around his attacking talents.
However, unfortunately, when you have a player this talented, you need to match his ambitions, and as Newcastle sit ninth in the Premier League, Isak’s future is coming under question.
Indeed, according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC podcast, Isak may well be looking to leave Newcastle in the near future.

Alexander Isak could leave Newcastle
Jones shared what he’s heard about Isak from his sources.
The journalist says that while Newcastle do want him to sign a new contract, the striker isn’t going to be staying at St James’ Park if Newcastle aren’t playing in Europe next season.
“Newcastle are still fully happy with him. But Alex Isak obviously has high ambitions and expectations, not just of himself, but of his career and Newcastle have to match that. Now they want him to sign a new contract.
“If he did sign a contract, there’s the potential that would have a release clause in it. Isak has to decide whether or not he wants that and whether that helps him. But equally, as I was speaking to somebody this week, if Newcastle don’t qualify for Europe this season, Alex Isak ain’t going to hang around any longer.
That is quite interesting. What does happen next and what the Newcastle do about that in January? Well, they’ve been talking about signing a right-sided attacker for some time, but there’s also been talk of them signing a striker.”
Where could Isak go?
Alexander Isak may well end up leaving Newcastle next year if they don’t qualify for European football.
If Isak is to leave, where could he go?
There would surely be no shortage of suitors for Isak, and there may even be options within the Premier League.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Isak recently, while Chelsea were said to be keen in the summer transfer window.
Isak is certainly talented enough to play for one of the top teams in Europe, let alone the Premier League, and he’s well within his rights to go out in search of top-level football if he can’t be provided that platform at Newcastle.
Newcastle have a massive season ahead of them as they need to finish in those ever-elusive European spots if they want to keep hold of Isak.
Luckily, after finishing fourth a couple of years ago, Eddie Howe’s side are more than good enough to make a European push again this season.
