Some Tottenham fans unsure over latest Romero report
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans were unsure over the latest report about Atalanta ace Cristian Romero.
What’s the story?
According to Tuttosport, the Lilywhites now have to pay between €60-65m for the Argentine defender (£51m-£55.3m). The increased valuation comes amidst interest from Barcelona in the 23-year-old.
The Serie A side are hoping to auction off the ace in order to get a higher fee.
It was claimed earlier in the month that Atalanta were demanding €55m (£47.1m) for the centre-half. However, it seems as though the price has been increased in the face of more interest.
Tottenham need to secure a defender, whether it’s Romero or someone else amid report
Amid the latest report, Tottenham need to secure a defender this summer, whether it’s Romero or someone else.
It’s fair to say Spurs weren’t at their best last season especially at the back. And after the departure of one of their most experienced players, Toby Alderweireld, centre-back has become an even bigger priority.
But after the introduction of Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gill, it seems Fabio Paratici is taking the club down the straight path.
There are signs a centre-back will sign as Tottenham head into next season.

Hope I’m wrong but looks like another one that will slip through the net as Levy won’t pay the money. Could have had Ruben Dias, Bruno Fernandes etc etc but same story. That’s why big teams win things and Spurs …are Spurs— Chris Baldwin (@balders1977) July 29, 2021
