Some at Chelsea are surprised at coach Mauricio Pochettino’s stance on Trevoh Chalobah.

That is according to The Mirror, which has noted what Chalobah wants to do in the January transfer window.

So, what has been reported about Chelsea player Trevoh Chalobah? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have cooled their interest in Chelsea player Trevoh Chalobah. Newcastle United have also been linked.

However, there is confidence that Chalobah, who can operate as a centre-back or as a defensive midfielder, will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window.

The report has noted that “some figures with ties to the Chelsea project have privately raised eye-brows at the way he has been cast aside by the Blues where he was previously deemed a valuable asset”.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino is simply not using the 24-year-old at the moment.

The £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) Englishman has not played a single match this season.

Trevoh Chalobah should leave Chelsea in January

In my opinion, Trevoh Chalobah should leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. I do not see any reason for the 24-year-old to stick around at Stamford Bridge.

After all, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino is not using Chalobah at all. It does not look likely that the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is going to change his mind on the Englishman.

Chalobah, who is faster than Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon, has made 45 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The former England Under-21 international has scored three goals, given one assist, and kept 13 clean sheets in those games.

Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with 16 points from 13 matches. The Blues are 10 points behind London rivals and fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 12 matches.
