Some Arsenal players did not actually agree with what Mikel Arteta did in January.

That is according to the Mirror.

So, what did Mikel Arteta do which divided opinion amongst the Arsenal squad? Let’s take a look…

Some Arsenal players disagreed with Mikel Arteta

Well – according to the Mirror – some Arsenal players actually disagreed with the Spaniard’s decision to take the squad on a trip to Dubai at the start of January.

Arteta took his players on a trip which was seemingly a mixture of training and a holiday, with players encouraged to invite family members and unwind after a difficult run in December.

The winter training camp is now being described as something of a season-defining moment as the Gunners embark on a remarkable run of form in the Premier League, but not everyone felt it was the right call.

It is said that there were “a few dissenting voices” in the dressing room when the trip to Dubai was suggested, with some players feeling that it would be more beneficial to stay in London and recharge.

Dubai trip has breathed new life into Arsenal

Despite that slight resistance, Arsenal still went to Dubai, and have since won seven games in a row while scoring a quite ridiculous amount of goals.

A 5-0 win over Crystal Palace immediately followed the trip to Dubai, before a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest and another crucial three points were secured against Liverpool after a 3-1 win.

Then, the Gunners went wild in front of goal.

Arsenal’s last four Premier League outings have seen a total of 22 goals scored – with only one going against the Gunners.

As a result of this spectacular form, Arsenal have now become the first side in English football history to score five or more goals in three successive away matches.

Whatever happened in Dubai, Arteta got it spot on.
