Some Arsenal fans believe player ‘better than Grealish’ is joining the Gunners

Arsenal fans have welcomed comments made by Brendan Rodgers regarding James Maddison.

Football.london claimed on Tuesday that the Gunners proposed a player-plus-cash deal for the Leicester ace.

Sky Sports then wrote of Arsenal’s apparent interest in Maddison on Thursday.

The latter outlet claims Maddison is open to the idea of joining the Gunners.

Rodgers is aware of speculation linking Arsenal and the England international.

“I believe he will stay,” BBC Sport quotes the Foxes boss as saying.

“There is clearly gossip and speculation at this time of year

“But James has been working very hard in training and is an important member of our squad.

“Hopefully this year he can show the real top player that he is.”

But some Gooners feel Rodgers addressing Maddison’s future and saying he’ll stay is typically what happens before a player moves.

Obviously the biggest issue regarding Arsenal’s pursuit of Maddison is his price tag.

He will reportedly cost the Gunners – or any other suitors – £60million.

Arsenal have apparently suggested a player-plus-cash deal, but Leicester don’t seem interested in any of their players.
