Arsenal make Leicester a proposition for Maddison, Foxes respond - report
Arsenal have reportedly offered Leicester one of four players in a bid to try and land James Maddison.
According to football.london, the Gunners would like to include a player in a bid to lower Maddison’s £60million price tag.
Arsenal have reportedly offered one of Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah as makeweights.
However, the Foxes aren’t interested in any Gunners players and would prefer a cash-only deal for Maddison, added the report.
The 24-year-old is reportedly open to joining Arsenal this summer, and the Gunners are eager to bring in a creative midfielder.
In addition, Mikel Arteta apparently views Maddison as his top summer target.
Arsenal target Maddison – the story so far
Maddison came through the ranks at Coventry before joining Norwich for a reported £2.4million in 2016.
Two-and-a-half years later, Maddison linked up with Leicester for a reported £22.5million.
Maddison has since made 118 appearances for the Foxes, claiming 27 goals and 20 assists for the club.
His efforts have helped Leicester win the FA Cup and become an established top-six team regularly competing in the Europa League.
Maddison has also won one England cap, and his omission from the Euro 2020 squad proved contentious.
