Dean Huijsen is one of the most in demand players in the Premier League right now.

Liverpool want Dean Huijsen, Arsenal have been linked to the defender, while Chelsea were named as favourites to sign Huijsen at one point too.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast, Paul Gilmour has been discussing Dean Huijsen’s summer transfer options, and he’s given an update from Tottenham.

Indeed, according to the journalist, Huijsen is definitely on Tottenham’s transfer wishlist this summer, but this may just be an unrealistic target.

According to Gilmour, Spurs are looking at Huijsen and he’s been told that Tottenham are looking at the defender due to the fact it would look negligent to not be in this race, even if they don’t stand much of a chance of getting this deal done.

Paul Gilmour shares Dean Huijsen to Tottenham update

Gilmour shared what he’s been told about Huijsen and Tottenham.

The journalist says the Spaniard is on Tottenham’s list, but they’re viewing this as an unrealistic target that they’re only going for because of how poor the optics would be if they weren’t in this race.

“But Dean Huijsen, going back to him, he’s definitely on a Tottenham list. I think the way it was put to me is it would be a bit negligent if a player of that quality with a release clause, if you’re not seen to be going for them, whether they’ve got a chance of getting them,” Gilmour said.

The team Dean Huijsen wants to sign for

Tottenham are in the mix for Huijsen, but, in all honesty, Spurs aren’t likely to win this race.

Tottenham already have a number of centre-back options with Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin.

Cristian Romero is likely to leave Tottenham, but Huijsen isn’t likely to be his replacement.

Spurs have been terrible this season, and Huijsen has his eyes on joining an elite team.

In fact, according to David Ornstein, Huijsen is most keen to sign for Real Madrid.

“I think it’s Real Madrid who have always appealed most to the player himself, but at the time of recording, I’m not aware of them being in a position to proceed with it. And both Bournemouth and the player would like this to be wrapped up relatively swiftly. So as things stand, that would see the Premier League as his most likely destination,” Ornstein said.

Huijsen will be on the move this summer, but it’s hard to see Spurs winning the race to sign the Bournemouth star.
