Ademola Lookman was one of the names linked with a move to Arsenal in the final week of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have had a busy deadline day. They have sold Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton, while Neto has arrived at Arsenal’s training ground to complete his move.
Mikel Arteta would still like to sign a third-choice goalkeeper and a new attacker, preferably a versatile forward who can play across the frontline.
Lookman was named as a target for Arsenal, but there’s some bad news for fans who were hoping to see him arrive at the Emirates.

Arsenal target Ademola Lookman will stay at Atalanta
Arsenal are short of options in attack.
The Gunners have Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as regular starters on either side of the pitch, while Leandro Trossard is the main alternative. The other natural wide option is Reiss Nelson, who hardly ever plays.
Arsenal fans have been dreaming of a new winger before the 11:00 pm deadline, and a few names have been linked in recent days.
Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman was said to be an option, and the former Everton man checked a lot of boxes on paper for the Gunners.
Despite Arsenal links, Lookman preferred to move to PSG, but unfortunately for him, he is going nowhere before the window closes.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who tweeted: “Ademola Lookman, set to stay with Atalanta Bergamo!
“26 y/o wanted to join Paris Saint-Germain but the deal won’t happen.”
Arsenal’s chances of signing Raheem Sterling and Kingsley Coman
With Lookman no longer an option, Arsenal fans must be thinking of Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich.
Both players have been linked with a move to the Emirates, but there’s disappointment for fans there as well.
Miguel Delaney has revealed that Arsenal have passed on the opportunity of signing both Sterling and Coman in the final hours of deadline day.
It has been claimed that the Gunners view both deals as ‘too complicated’ to pull off this late in the window.
So, unless something drastic happens in the coming hours, Arsenal’s only signing on deadline day will be Neto from Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
