Arsenal are now up against it if they are going to pull off any late deals in the final hours of this summer’s transfer window.
Mikel Arteta‘s side have been working against the clock all day to try and secure themselves some further firepower.
Arsenal are believed to be on alert for potential forwards who could provide a strong end to what has, otherwise, been a quiet summer market.
At the top of the list for Arsenal is Nico Williams but the winger looks set to remain at Athletic Bilbao for another season, at least.
However, Arsenal fans may want to get themselves an early night later given the news which has now emerged.

Arsenal turn down opportunity to sign two forwards
There have been two forwards who have been strongly linked with a potential move to north London over the coming hours.
Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman is one of those players claimed to be of interest to Arsenal with his future in Germany hanging in the balance.
But the biggest name of deadline day goes to Chelsea’ Raheem Sterling who has been offered to Arsenal in these final hours.

According to journalist Miguel Delaney, Arsenal have passed on the opportunity to sign either of these two strikers.
It is believed moves for Coman and Sterling are now viewed as too complicated by the north London side as the clock ticks down on the deadline.
Although Delaney suggests never to say never, it looks as if Arsenal’s business could now be done for the summer.
Whether enough has been done in the market will have to be seen with two outfield players and one backup goalkeeper having been signed.
Arsenal leaving Mikel Arteta’s options sparse up top
Ending the window, Arsenal have Gabriel Jesus currently nursing an injury issue and with Eddie Nketiah departing for Crystal Palace.
And despite being in real need for a new right winger to provide some backup for Bukayo Saka, it looks like that is not going to happen.
The Gunners have a really big season with Champions League football and a title charge to push forward with.
Whether or not they have enough depth in the squad to see them through to January will depend on any big injuries to some of their top stars.
