West Ham United have enjoyed a fruitful summer on the transfer front and it looks as though one more big move looms on deadline day.

The Hammers signed Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman early on in the window.

West Ham then got three more deals done early in August, as Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez all joined.

Since then, the Hammers have also recruited Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, along with getting Paris FC talent Mohamadou Kante on their books.

Now, West Ham are nearing another big signing, with Carlos Soler edging closer to a move to the London Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano declared “here we go” on Soler to West Ham earlier today.

Carlos Soler now in London for West Ham medical

Now, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has shared the latest on the Soler to West Ham state of play.

Sheth, speaking live on Sky Sports News, has confirmed that Soler has arrived in London to undergo his medical with the Hammers.

The Spaniard will be signing for West Ham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, with a reported option to buy for £20million, as per GiveMeSport.

What will Soler bring to West Ham?

Soler is a quality player who will improve West Ham’s midfield and link-up play massively.

The 27-year-old made a name for himself at Valencia, earning himself a £17million move to the French capital in 2022.

Soler’s style of play has been compared to that of fellow Spaniard Santi Cazorla and David Silva, both of whom became Premier League cult heroes.

Jaime Fernandez Valencia of Scouting outlet Breaking the Lines has described him as a ‘great passer’ who’s ‘sometimes even more dangerous than the strikers’.

Meanwhile, former Valencia youth coach Ruben Mora previously told their official club website: “He is very competitive and decisive in nearly every contribution.

“We changed his position because there was an injury to one of our players (Javi Pérez de Lucía) and we saw that Carlos was good at getting into the area, running in from the second line, and shooting.

“Out of 40 passes he attempted, 39 would be good. He understood the game and we saw him as a ‘Ruben Baraja’ in central midfield. It worked out well.”
