Simon Jordan reacts as Arsenal reportedly looking at Antonio Conte

Arsenal are already considering options to replace Mikel Arteta after a woeful 2-0 defeat to Brentford – with Antonio Conte a possible appointment. Reports from Italy claim the Arsenal board have made Conte a priority. Simon Jordan has reacted on TalkSPORT, urging Arsenal against Conte.

The Italian gaffer – who won the Premier League with Chelsea – is out of work after deciding to leave Inter Milan despite winning the Serie A. The ex-Blues boss held talks with Tottenham over replacing Jose Mourinho, but Spurs failed to convince Conte. Now, he remains out of work.

ITA Sport Press report that Arsenal will pursue Conte if they decide to axe Arteta, and are willing to meet his huge £196,000-a-week demands. But ex-Crystal Palace owner, and now TalkSPORT pundit Jordan reacted. He urges Arsenal to avoid Conte, claiming a move would plunge them into chaos.

“Can you imagine Conte at Arsenal? The guy is a very good manager but he is a nightmare to work with,” Jordan said. “He doesn’t like anything unless he gets exactly what he wants. Can you imagine him going into Arsenal with silent Stan [Kroenke] over here, Edu and you’ll have chaos in there.”

Conte to Arsenal: Is Jordan right about the Italian?

Jordan’s point is that Conte’s demands would have to be met – not just regarding his contract. Transfer budgets, power within the board room, power over Edu and more. Conte would not only be the manager, but the main man at Arsenal. Is it worth handing the reigns over Conte?

Jordan is right, Conte would cause chaos. But is chaos what Arsenal need right now? The Gunners need some life injected into them and Conte would give them that. It could be a nightmare under Conte but that might be just what they need, to start breathing some life again.
