Firstly, we had Alf Inge Haaland’s son Erling producing a Champions League masterclass for RedBull Salzburg, scoring a hat-trick on his debut in the competition – but the son of another Leeds icon has since taken the headlines.
Tony Yeboah was certainly one of Leeds United’s most iconic players. His breathtaking long-range shooting ability is remembered by football fans all over the country – especially his missiles against Liverpool and Wimbledon.
Now, the Ghanaian’s son, Kalvin is beginning to make a name for himself in Austria – similarly to Haaland. A 19-year-old Kalvin Yeboah scored four goals in one game against one of Austria’s biggest sides in Austria Vienna.
Yeboah jr, a Ghana Under-20 international, has now clocked up more thn 20 senior appearances but certainly his goals against Vienna will come as a highlight so far. Leeds fans took notice of their legend’s son, and some wanted him signed.

But could that really be a possibility? Could owner Andrea Radrizzani delight the Elland Road support by bringing the son one of the club’s biggest legends to Yorkshire? Well, if Leeds were to make a move, it seems they would find a transfer easy.
That is because Yeboah’s current deal with newly-promoted Austrian top-tier outfit WSG Tirol is in the final 12 months before it expires next summer. It means he can sign for a non-Austrian club on a pre-contract from January 1.
Leeds fall under that category and unless Yeboah’s son signs a new deal between now and then, Leeds would be able to pounce and bring Yeboah’s boy to Elland Road for nothing but what is likely to be a small compensation fee.
So, Leeds would have no difficulty in signing Yeboah. Whether they should, or not, is another matter.
