Oli McBurnie has emerged as a target for Rangers this summer following Sheffield United’s relegation from the Premier League. Despite a tricky spell in the top tier of English football, reports claim that Rangers would have to spend £15million to get McBurnie – and Sheffield United fans have reacted.
McBurnie, 24, is a well-renowned Rangers fan. Despite being born in Leeds and brought up in Yorkshire, one side of the ex-Swansea striker’s family are from Scotland – supporting Rangers. Vocal on social media, the Scotland international has now emerged as an option for Steven Gerrard.
The Daily Mail claims Rangers want to lure McBurnie to Ibrox and it is claimed that Sheffield United for £15million. The Blades bought him from Swansea in the summer of 2019 for a figure of £20million, but are unwilling to take a huge hit. That is, despite scoring just seven goals in 65 outings.

Competition for Sheffield Utd’s McBurnie at Rangers?
Rangers do have numerous options up top. Kemar Roofe has enjoyed a solid first season at Ibrox after his move from Anderlecht. Alfredo Morelos looks more than likely to remain at Rangers with Champions League football on the horizon. Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe are also options.
Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that McBurnie could be on his way to Ibrox to rival those four strikers. A £15million move would be the club’s record transfer – and Sheffield United fans are desperate for him to move to Rangers this summer, if such a fee is tabled.
