Sergio Reguilon playing for Tottenham again in some doubt - TBR View
Sergio Reguilon playing for Tottenham again looks to potentially have a question mark hanging over it judging by reports on Thursday, coupled with comments made by Antonio Conte.
Reguilon was not involved as Tottenham played Leicester at the weekend. And Conte has now suggested that there is some doubt over whether he will return before the campaign concludes.
The Italian confirmed that Reguilon has not trained with Spurs ahead of their clash with Liverpool. And he is obviously running out of time to get back fit before the end of the season.
What On Earth Is Going On At Bordeaux?
“Sergio Reguilon is not available. He hasn’t had a training session with us. Honestly I don’t know, it’s only two weeks until the end of the season and I’m not sure if he’ll be back,” he said, as reported by Football London.
It is certainly a blow for Tottenham. Reguilon has really shone at times this term. And Ryan Sessegnon is still working his way back from a lengthy injury absence.
It also appears uncertain whether the 25-year-old will play for Spurs again.
Reports on Thursday claimed that Tottenham are considering selling Reguilon this summer. The likes of Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Emerson Royal could also leave.
Obviously, a return to Real Madrid is not out of the question. Reports claimed that Los Blancos can re-sign Reguilon for £43 million this summer.
But Reguilon has also been linked with a move to Barcelona. And news of his availability is bound to attract the attention of others.
Sergio Reguilon playing for Tottenham again in some doubt
It would be a gamble to sell Reguilon. He has threatened to be an outstanding left-back during his time in North London. Micah Richards once labelled him ‘brilliant‘.
It would be a shame if his final appearance did come in the loss to Brighton. But perhaps that may be a real possibility now that Conte has hinted he may not play again this season.
