Hugo Lloris has now revealed details of a conversation he had with Daniel Levy before leaving Tottenham for Los Angeles FC.
The 37-year-old made the comments when speaking to The Times.
So, what did Hugo Lloris say to Daniel Levy just before leaving Tottenham? Let’s take a look…
Hugo Lloris shares details of conversation with Daniel Levy
Well, the France international left Spurs for Los Angeles back in January after 12 years at Tottenham – which saw him amass 447 appearances.
However, Lloris and Levy actually agreed he should leave N17 six months before that move to LAFC materialised, as Tottenham had intentions to wrap up a £17.2m deal for Guglielmo Vicario.
The Frenchman said: “I had a conversation with Daniel (Levy) and we felt, on my side but also on the club’s side, that it was the end of an era. He felt the club needed to start something new and I totally understood. It was also my feeling.
“We decided to split ways but even if I couldn’t find the right spot in the summer I stayed patient and was waiting for the right move. I know it seemed a bit weird from the outside but I committed to the training sessions and I was preparing myself to leave.”

Lloris – who received interest from Newcastle too – did not even make a single appearance on the bench for Tottenham this season before departing for Major League Soccer.
The Nice-born glovesman’s new comments strongly suggest that was in fear of picking up an injury and potentially ruining an exit from Hotspur Way.
How 37-year-old has fared since leaving Tottenham
Lloris has enjoyed a decent start to life in Los Angeles.
The LAFC No.1 has made five MLS appearances so far, keeping two clean sheets while conceding six goals.
LAFC and Lloris have won two and drawn one of these five outings.
Whatever you think of Lloris and the way things ended in north London, he is something of a modern day club legend after amassing so many appearances at Tottenham.

Only Gary Mabbutt and Steve Perryman made more appearances for Spurs than the Frenchman with 575 and 636 respectively.
Hopefully, Lloris can enjoy a successful end to his memorable career out in the United States.
