New Spurs manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, has given the green light for the club to go out and sign Barcelona and Bosnia midfielder, Miralem Pjanic.
Pjanic has been linked with a move to Tottenham throughout this entire week. It comes after reports suggested that Barcelona will release the midfielder from his contract for nothing.
Santo is currently bedding in at Spurs after being handed the task of turning things around following Jose Mourinho’s departure. Along with Fabio Paratici, the Portuguese coach is expected to spearhead a summer recruitment drive.

And according to Sport, Santo has now given the Spurs recruitment team the go-ahead to land Pjanic.
It’s a move which could well improve the midfield. The experienced Bosnian has 100 caps for his country. Further, he’s also hit 15 goals, which is more than double the combined international efforts of Dele Alli and Lucas Moura.
Moutinho part two?
Nuno Santo had a very steady midfielder at Wolves. It was ran by Ruben Neves but the addition of Joao Moutinho also helped.
Signing Pjanic feels very Moutinho-esque. The midfielder is a class act but has an abundance of experience in the tank. He’s lethal on deadballs, too, giving Spurs another feather in their cap.
On a free-transfer, this could be big business for Spurs. Yes, Pjanic has had his struggles and injuries. But get him fit, and get him firing, and he’s a fine midfield player.
After all, you don’t appear for your country 100 times without having a bit about you.
