Tottenham target Miralem Pjanic will reportedly leave FC Barcelona as a free agent.

According to Mundo Deprotivo, the 100-capped Bosnian international will terminate his contract with the La Liga giants. Pjanic joined Barcelona last summer for €60m (£51m) according to the Standard.

Despite arriving with plenty of hype, Pjanic failed to set the world alight for the Catalan side. The 31-year-old midfielder made 30 appearances in all competitions failing to score a single goal.

However, a year on from his move to Spain, Pjanic now looks set to leave. AS report that Tottenham are keen on the midfielder. Moreover, new Managing Director of Football for Spurs, Fabio Paritic, was key behind bringing the Bosnian to Juventus in 2016.

Indeed, although Pjanic was on mammoth wages at Barca, some Tottenham fans on social media are keen on the board signing the midfielder this summer.

Despite a poor season with Barcelona, some Spurs supporters believe Pjanic could add some extra quality to the midfield as well as act as a good partner for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Here’s what some Tottenham fans had to say on Twitter about Pjanic potentially being released…

As well as Pjanic, Samuel Umtiti is likely to leave Barcelona as a free agent. As reported by Forbes, the La Liga side are over €1bn in debt.
