Sancho lauds Arsenal Player of the Season Bukayo Saka
Jadon Sancho was amongst those to reply to Bukayo Saka on Instagram after the youngster posted his reaction to winning the Player of the Season award at Arsenal.
Saka appears to have cruised to the award. Arsenal confirmed on their official website that the 19-year-old received 51 percent of the vote amongst the fans.
Nicolas Pepe meanwhile, received 15 percent to finish second.
It is hard to disagree with Saka winning the honour. The teenager scored five times and contributed three assists in the Premier League.
He was often a shining light in a difficult campaign for Mikel Arteta’s side. Along with Emile Smith Rowe, he was one of the few players who really seemed to step up when Arsenal were struggling.
He featured all over the pitch this past season, including in central midfield.
And of course, his form has seen Saka rewarded with a place in the England squad for Euro 2020.
It was his goal that gave the Three Lions the win over Austria this week. And he will be hoping to add to that tally over the coming weeks.
‘Deserved’: Sancho reacts as Saka wins Player of the Season for Arsenal
Saka took to social media following the announcement that he had been named as Player of the Season by Arsenal fans.
And the youngster sent out an incredibly classy message. He dedicated the honour to the supporters who have largely been unable to attend games this past season.
In response, a number of teammates praised Saka. Alexandre Lacazette clearly agreed with the supporters’ decision.
And there was a similar reply from Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund star is in the England squad with Saka, and he suggested that he was indeed Arsenal’s best performer this past year…
