'Terrific','Football IQ is already elite': Some Arsenal fans laud '£100m talent' after Euro 2020 display
Some Arsenal fans were lauding Bukayo Saka after his display for England in their win over the Czech Republic at Euro 2020.
The winger was in stunning form for the Three Lions directly contributing to the side’s opener.
He dribbled from inside England’s own half past a few Czech players before bursting into the box to offer an option to Jack Grealish. The Aston Villa attacker crossed the ball for Raheem Sterling, who headed home the winner.
Saka’s start against the east European nation was his first in a major tournament.
And it was a sensational introduction to life with the big boys. The 19-year-old completed five times more dribbles than any teammate.
TBR View: Arsenal ace Saka picked up where he left off during Euro 2020 debut
Saka picked up during his Euro 2020 debut where he left off with Arsenal.
Last season was a difficult campaign for the Gunners, however, the youngster was one bright spot.
He was consistent across the whole term, making 46 appearances across all competitions. The star scored seven times and assisted a further 10.
And with Mason Mount potentially out of the last-16 tie, it would be interesting to see if he starts the next match.
He’s shown tonight that he deserves an inclusion next week as England look to go all the way.
Here is how fans reacted…
Saka’s football IQ is already elite. Aged 19. Best talent Arsenal have had since Cesc.— AFCAMDEN (@AFCAMDEN) June 22, 2021
Arsenal have a £100m talent in Bukayo Saka. The club must build a team where he feels we can achieve everything.— Eduardo Hagn (@EduardoHagn) June 22, 2021
Standing ovation for Saka and he absolutely deserves it. Best player on the pitch today imo and given Southgate a lot to think about.— evan 》 (@afcevan) June 22, 2021
Bukayo Saka is England’s best natural right winger. Today confirmed that for me.— Max ✍🏼 (@AFCMax9) June 22, 2021
Terrific performance by Saka. He's taken so much initiative to make himself available all times, to drop deeper, help initiate attacks (opening goal) and make the right runs during transition. His positional awareness is top-notch – he always knows where to be. Just 19 years old.— LTArsenal™ (@ltarsenal) June 22, 2021
