Fabrizio Romano claims on his latest Twitch episode that there could be some news on the future of Wolves ace Ruben Neves in the coming days. The Portugal international looks likely to leave this summer. Romano says news is forthcoming, and that Arsenal could be about to make their move.

Neves, 24, is a modern icon at Wolves. Joining the club four years ago from Porto, he has guided them to promotion and help Wolves establish themselves as a proper Premier League side. But with Nuno Espirito Santo leaving, Neves is looking to follow his old manager out of the exit door.

Duncan Castles claims that Wolves are looking for £50million for Neves, and that Arsenal have held talks with Wolves and Neves. Now, Romano has said on his Twitch channel that there could be news in the coming days regarding Neves – and names Arsenal and Manchester United as suitors.

“Ruben Neves, I think in the next days we will have something on this one. Let’s see if it’s about Arsenal or Manchester United,” Romano says.

Why Arsenal need Neves much more than United, amid Romano claims

Manchester United do need a midfielder, but they have options. Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Fred, Donny van de Beek and more. At Arsenal, that wealth of midfield talent is not so forthcoming. Especially if Granit Xhaka does eventually join Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

Arsenal boast Thomas Partey, Joe Willock, Lucas Torreira and Mo Elneny, as well as Xhaka. Dani Ceballos has returned to Madrid, Matteo Guendouzi has joined Marseille. Willock could return to Newcastle, Torreira is likely to go as is Xhaka and Elneny is in the final year or his contract.

So, Arsenal could literally be left with Partey and new signing Albert Sambi Lokonga. They really need a midfielder and Neves is ideal.
