'Very good relationship': Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham could beat Chelsea to £34m left-footer in January
Fabrizio Romano has been discussing all things Tottenham and has confirmed that Piero Hincapie is a player the club really like.
Tottenham are expected to be busy once again in January as Fabio Paratici gets to work in helping Antonio Conte improve the squad.
One name who has been mentioned is impressive Ecuadorian star Hincapie. The 20-year-old played a starring role for his country in the World Cup and is seen by Bayer Leverkusen as one of their key assets.
And speaking on the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel, Romano said that Hincapie is very much a player Spurs and Paratici like.
“Hincapie is appreciated by Tottenham, let me say that Paratici already knew this player when he was at Juventus. He was really young and playing in South America. So Paratici knows the player really well for some time. Hincapie is appreciated it’s true but Bayer Leverkusen want to keep all their players until the end of the season, so it’s not going to be easy,” Romano said.
“I’m told that Tottenham have a very good relationship with the agents of the player, so let’s see if they decide to act.”
Spurs will face a battle to land Hincapie if they do move. The likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are keen on the left-footer, who is thought to be valued around the £34m mark.
