Romano says Hector Bellerin has no intention of staying at Arsenal

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on Twitter that Hector Bellerin has no intention of staying at Arsenal next season, and has received a number of approaches ahead of a decision on his future.

Bellerin is currently set to return to the Emirates in the coming weeks. He, of course, spent the large majority of this past campaign on loan with Real Betis.

Clearly, it was a special move for the right-back. And the club president Angel Haro recently hinted that they could look at securing a further deal for Bellerin.

You would imagine that a return to Betis would suit all parties. Arsenal have moved on. And Bellerin appeared to need his move away from the Emirates after such a long spell in North London.

However, Romano has suggested a return to Los Verdiblancos will not be straightforward. What is clear though, is that Bellerin is not looking to be involved in Mikel Arteta’s plans next season.

Bellerin has no intention of staying at Arsenal

It is a shame that Bellerin’s time at Arsenal looks set to end in this matter. When he burst onto the scene, he looked to be one of the most exciting prospects playing in Europe. And the Gunners seemed to have a special talent on their hands. Arteta has labelled him an ‘exceptional‘ player.

Unfortunately, his development started to stagnate in recent years. So a change of scene was needed for all sides.

Arsenal now have Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares in their ranks. And reports have suggested that they also want Djed Spence. So there really looks to be no future for Bellerin with the Gunners.

A permanent move elsewhere would now hand Arteta’s transfer kitty a boost. And obviously, Bellerin will want to find his new permanent home so he can try and kick on in what could be the peak years of his career.
